A million people in Belfast?

Some experts are predicting that in fifteen years, Belfast will have three times as many residents - a million people.

£5 billion investment in Belfast

Private sector proposals worth £5 billion have already been announced. Some are under construction, many are awaiting planning permission and more are on the way. Belfast now has a brief opportunity to combine the benefits of this new investment in an integrated plan.

Belfast Metro/ 20 is a vision of Arthur Acheson’s and the views expressed are his own. Arthur Acheson is a first class honours graduate of Queen's University, Belfast and holds a masters degree from McGill University, Montreal. He is an architect and city planner with The Boyd Partnership in Belfast. He is a Committee Member of Belfast Civic Trust, of which he was the founder chair in 1982. He was appointed in 2007 to the Ministerial Advisory Group for Architecture and the Built Environment (Northern Ireland).
