History
The Boyd Partnership Chartered Architects LLP was founded in Belfast in 1921 by David Wright Boyd.
The practice works extensively for the private and public sector. Major projects have included the full range of building types including offices, schools, colleges, housing, hospital work, hotels, shops, commercial and industrial together with innovative work in community architecture, urban design and civic awareness.
The workforce consists of Partners, Architects and Technicians. The resultant skills available ensure that all projects from small scale to multi-size complex developments are within the capabilities of the partnership. The practice has an annual turnover of approximately £15M of certified building projects.

In addition, experience of working with universities, community groups and voluntary bodies has provided the practice with a wealth of experience in research techniques, community participation and civic responsibility.
CDM Safetynet was established in 1994 as the in-house CDM consultancy of The Boyd Partnership Chartered Architects.
We have a wide range of experience encompassing approximately 450 projects, residential, industrial, educational and commercial. Project values range from £20K to £9M. We have worked with new build and refurbishment / extension of existing buildings where quite often we have to deal with contractors working in confined sites and overlapping with building occupants.
The Boyd Partnership Chartered Architects LLP personnel and partners have regular training specifically in Health and Safety issues targeting designers duties under the CDM Regulations. Ongoing training including awareness of up to date legislation is provided to all designers by CDM Safetynet.
All Architects within the practice have CSR accredited safety training and are registered as architects under the scheme. All Government funded schemes comply with Build Safe NI initiative. We have two fully trained CDM Co-ordinators within the practice implementing a wide range of services under the CDM regulations.

Jonathan R Gibson, IOSH Certificate in Managing Safely
The practice is a corporate member of the Association for Project Safety and Colin Simpson also holds individual membership of same.
